Tom Taylor serves as the Chief Tax Officer at Taylor Capital, LLC, where he oversees all tax planning strategies for the firm’s real estate investment fund, Dormie Equity Partners, LP. In this role, Tom is responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated tax strategies that optimize the fund’s returns while ensuring compliance with ever-evolving tax laws. His approach includes structuring real estate transactions in the most tax-efficient manner, managing tax liabilities across multiple jurisdictions, and leveraging tax incentives such as cost segregation, 1031 exchanges, and opportunity zone investments. By utilizing advanced tax deferral techniques and capital gains strategies, Tom plays a critical role in enhancing after-tax profits for investors.

 

With over 40 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Tom brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Before joining Taylor Capital, he was the Managing Partner of Taylor & Morgan CPAs, a firm he led for four decades. During his tenure, he built a reputation for delivering exceptional tax planning, advisory services, and financial strategies to businesses and individuals alike. His deep understanding of tax law and regulations has allowed him to navigate complex tax environments, creating value for clients and investors.
